If there is one thing that I don’t understand,
it’s your love.
But it amazes me still.
Whenever I look back and remember those days,
all I could do is sigh and whisper to Your ear,
“Your love still amazes me.”
When I’m faced with so many trials in life,
I will just say,
“It amazes me still.”
When I’m alone in my room,
all I could do is to remember Your love and say,
“It never fails to amaze me.”
Truly, Your love is so amazing.
It is too much for me to understand.
In every victory, in every pain, in every battle won, in every failure,
I pray that I will never forget what You’ve done.
Lord… that YOUR LOVE STILL AMAZES ME.

Psalm 16:2 I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord;apart from you I have no good thing.” Everything good in me is because of God in me.

passion....
you can only be truly effective with what youre doing if you believe that what you are doing is the best thing in this world.....
that's passion....i realized that it was only when i was totally convinced that psychology is the best course in the world, was i able to really be effective in my course....enjoying every minute while reading Skinner & Pavlov’s experiment (though mind you, sometimes i would read the passage thrice for me to really grasp what they're trying to say)....
the word passion comes from the latin word of 'suffering'. and yes sometimes the vocation we choose would include sufferings. sometimes we are not fairly compensated considering the effort and time weve spent on it.
going over a certain experiment for three hours would be a joy for psych majors, mathematicians solving one problem for five hours would be a challenge, for a teacher; spending hours making lesson plans, thinking of strategies on how to make their students understand, being able to stand their students who are not even interested in a thing they say- it’s a journey that is worth taking.
Indeed love and passion are inseparable. But loving what you do is not enough, you must be passionate about it. In my almost four years in the university, there are teachers who really made an impact in my life…and these are the teachers who are so passionate with what theyre doing. You would see a glimmer in their eyes everytime they would discuss something to their students. These are the teachers, who would leave an imprint in the hearts and minds of every student that would come their way. The sad thing however is that, I see less and less people who have this kind of zeal.
For me passion is like surrendering everything you are to this one thing you’re so sold out for..its giving every part of you to it…its like giving it your best shot always, as if its gonna be your last....
one characteristic of passionate people is that they never lose their sense of awe, their sense of wonder on the things around them. as we grow old, this is one thing that we let go....everything just seems so ordinary in our eyes...but look at the children, who would stand in awe everytime they would see a rainbow..this little childrem whose eyes would glimmer everytime they see a butterfly or a bird flapping its wings...how i wish we could once again learn to see things through the eyes of a child...sense the excitement...see their passion....
When youre passionate about something, there’s always that excitement, that wonder of what is around you. When you’re a teacher who’s passionate about teaching, you would always be excited to learn more knowing that it would be another chance of learning new things to be able to share it to your students. For philosophers, you would always be amazed and in awe of how things are around you, knowing that there is always a mystery that needs to be solved behind things, a question that needs to be asked and that begs for an answer. for doctors, everytime you see your patients, theres that sense of excitement and wonder that once again youd have the chance to save a person's life.
i love being with people who are passionate and zealous....theres this certain high when youd get to be with people who are just so on fire.....
i remember martin luther king jr, who said- "if you have not found something to die for, youre not fit to live" ------that is passion...
i believe that everyone of us is passionate about something. some people go loco over fashion, over bradd pitt, over parties, over pornography, over drugs, over their boyfriends or girlfriends...etc
but do youknow who's so much worthy of our passion? our fervor? Our zeal?
JESUS-----he demonstrated what passion really is when HE chose to die on that cross for you and me...thats suffering for a cause thats noble.
passion is not totally mindless nor totally blind. We use reason to determine how we want to live recognize what it is that we want to be passionate about….the possible outcome of our choices- the possible grief and also the possible rewards....
yes Jesus was so pasionate of saving you and me that he chose to come down from his glory, to be mocked, to be spit upon, to be crucified....
passion is passion.....
